Location: Providence Care HospitalWage: $30.49 - $35.15The Medical Laboratory Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring the secure, accurate, and efficient collection of client specimens from the point of initial contact with the client to data entry, phlebotomy, and to the final preparation of specimens for transportation. These procedures do not require interpretation assessment or the exercise of independent judgment. The procedures are performed under the direct supervision of the Medical Laboratory Technologist.Skills and Qualifications Required:Graduate of an approved Laboratory Assistants/Technician training programExperience in phlebotomyExperience in working with elderly clients and individuals with a variety of disabilities an assetPosition Responsibilities:Obtains blood and urine specimens from inpatients, outpatients, and staff when requested by Occupational Health ServicesPrepares samples and coordinates the referral of specimens to licensed laboratories for analysis and the subsequent distribution of test resultsSupports Point of Care Testing programsHelps to maintain equipment, inventory, and a safe working environment in the LaboratoryAdheres to all departmental and organizational policies,
