The Finance Officer position plays a crucial role in the Indigenous Screen Office, which focuses on promoting Indigenous storytelling and values. You'll collaborate with the Director of Finance and manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Engage in the financial planning processes to ensure solid budgeting and reporting while supporting organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with payroll and benefits administration
• Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with auditors
• Manage financial data integrity and reporting formats
• Stay updated on accounting standards and tax legislation
• Review employee expense claims for policy compliance
Requirements:
• 3-5 years in non-profit bookkeeping or accounting
• Proficiency in Quickbooks and payroll processing
• Solid understanding of financial concepts for diverse audiences
• Experience with Indigenous communities is an asset
• Ability to work remotely and manage confidential data
