DescriptionSUMMARYUnder the direction of the Accounting Manager and in accordance with established policies and procedures, full time clerk is responsible for assisting the Accounting Department with overall support of the department's accounting duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.COMPETENCIESDemonstrates attention to detailFollows policies and proceduresDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure qualityMeets productivity standards; completes work in timely manner; strives to increase productivity; works quickly and accuratelyObserves safety and security procedures; uses equipment and materials properlyManages competing demands; able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected eventsReliable and is consistently at work and on timeFollows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actionsDisplays honesty, integrity and trustworthinessMaintains complete confidentiality in all mattersCompetency in 10-key by touchAble to work independentlyRESPONSIBILITIESPrepare/scan/file supporting documentsAssist with Monthly ReconciliationsPerforms support for all other accounting duties including but not limited to:ResearchAccurate and timely paper and electronic filingGeneral office tasks assignedAssist with money countingAssist with payroll entriesAt the direction of the Accounting Manager,



assist with the annual appeal in the following areas:Assist with entering pledges from two appeals into the computer systemAssist with entering monthly appeals payments receivedAssist with sending out monthly computer-generated statementsHelp with month end including but not limited to:Supporting documentsRecurring journal entriesEmailing Holy Family Retreat Center invoicesFollow-up with overdue invoicesBank:Review bank reconciliations at month endVerify depositsIdentify missing itemsDeposit and Loan SystemAssist with data entry for:Accounts payableStaff AccountantAccounts ReceivableSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEOne-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to operate business office equipment and demonstrated competence in computer programs. Must be proficient in 10-key by touch.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure,



using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.OTHER QUALIFICATIONSValid Texas driver's license required.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
