With strong values, a supportive culture, and a commitment to excellence, we have built a workplace where innovation and collaboration flourish.Role SummaryThis is a full-time, on-site co-op position located in Puslinch, ON.As an Automation Engineering Co-op student, you will work alongside experienced automation professionals to support the design, programming, integration, and commissioning of custom automation equipment.This role provides exposure to controls engineering, electrical design, robotics, machine assembly, commissioning, and system testing, making it an excellent opportunity for students interested in industrial automation.What You'll Learn & Work OnAssist with the design, development, implementation, documentation, and troubleshooting of custom automation projectsSupport PLC programming, HMI development, troubleshooting, and system testingAssist with robotic, vision, motion control, and safety system integrationCreate and update electrical and controls documentation, drawing packages, and bills of materialsSupport machine assembly, startup, commissioning, and debug activitiesWork with engineers, electricians, programmers, machinists, and assemblers to bring projects from concept to completionAssist in prototype development, equipment testing,



and process improvementsReview machine builds and help resolve technical issues during manufacturing and integrationParticipate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussionsMaintain organized project documentation and engineering recordsQualifications & ExperienceCurrently pursuing a degree or diploma in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Systems and Computing, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related disciplineInterest in industrial automation, controls systems, robotics, and machine designExperience with PLC programming, robotics, or controls systems is considered an assetFamiliarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks is an assetStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesHighly organized, self-motivated, and eager to learnAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering teamWhy Students Choose TCAGain hands-on experience with real-world automation projectsWork with PLCs, robotics, vision systems, motion control, and industrial networksLearn from experienced engineers, designers, and programmersExposure to the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through commissioningCollaborative team environment with opportunities to grow your technical skillsWork on custom-built equipment used by leading manufacturers across multiple industriesThe expected rate for this position is $20.00/HR - $28.00/HR.
