Lead the design of cutting-edge underground infrastructure at AECOM in Markham, ON. This role focuses on large rock caverns and pressurized water conveyance systems for major projects.

As a Principal Engineer, you will bring extensive experience in analyzing and designing complex underground structures. Your expertise in rock mechanics, geotechnical parameters, and numerical analysis will guide a multidisciplinary team. This is a newly created position that will significantly impact the delivery of better water infrastructure across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead design efforts for rock caverns and pressurized tunnels
• Perform 2D/3D structural analyses for tunnels and shafts
• Develop technical concepts for underground works




• Provide guidance on rock mass characterization and geotechnical design
• Coordinate with teams and mentor junior engineers

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or related Engineering
• 6+ years of experience in underground design
• P.Eng. certification in ON or equivalent eligibility
• Strong skills in rock mechanics and structural design
• Experience in major infrastructure projects preferred
