Become a Student Instructor for the SWRK 3170 course at the University of Manitoba starting January 2027. This role focuses on teaching social work research and requires excellent communication skills.
The Faculty of Social Work is seeking a Student Instructor for the Discovering Social Work Research course, which runs from January 1 to April 30, 2027. Candidates should have a Master’s degree, or be a Ph.D. candidate, with a specialization in social work or a related area. A demonstrated ability to teach and connect with students is essential for effectively supporting their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare instructional and testing materials for the course
• Conduct classes, instruct, and evaluate student performance
• Mark and grade assignments accurately
• Provide constructive and timely feedback to students
• Maintain regular office hours to assist students
Requirements:
• Master’s degree, Ph.D., or Ph.D. candidate preferred
• Solid oral and written communication skills
• Competence in post-secondary teaching
• Empathetic approach to student concerns
• Previous teaching experience is an asset
