The Senior Business Analyst is a key team member who partners with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and document business requirements and recommend solutions that improve business processes, customer experiences, operational effectiveness, and organizational outcomes. The Senior Business Analyst supports strategic initiatives, technology implementations, process improvements, and new product development under the guidance of the Product Owner. We reserve the right to change duties or assign additional duties at any time with or without notice.Position ResponsibilitiesElicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements, objectives, and outcomes with stakeholdersTranslate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, process flows, and business rulesAnalyze current business processes and identify opportunities for process improvements, operational efficiencies, and enhanced customer experiencesSupport the assessment and evaluation of business problems and recommend practical solutions aligned with strategic objectivesDevelop and maintain business requirement documents, workflows, process maps, use cases, and functional specificationsDocument current-state and future-state business processes to support change initiatives and system enhancementsIdentify impacts of proposed changes on people, processes, policies, systems, and reportingSupport the development and implementation of new processes, products, and business capabilitiesFacilitate requirements workshops, discovery sessions, and stakeholder interviews to gather and validate requirementsAssist in the definition of business acceptance criteria and success measures for initiativesSupport business readiness activities and contribute to the development of business procedures and operational documentationIdentify risks, dependencies, assumptions, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycleMonitor and evaluate implemented solutions to ensure business objectives and expected perks are achievedCommunicationProvide effective communication with business unit management as well as business partners across Information Technology, Operations, Product & Marketing, Sales & Distribution, Compliance, Risk, and other functional teamsPrepare and deliver clear, concise, and professional documentation, recommendations, presentations, and status updates for stakeholders at all levelsFacilitate discussions to build alignment, resolve issues, and support informed decision-makingCommunicate complex business concepts and project impacts in a manner that is understandable to both technical and non-technical audiencesCollaborate with business and technical partnersWork closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand business challenges, goals, and operational needsConduct interviews, workshops, and collaborative sessions with business and subject matter experts to identify and communicate requirementsPartner with Product Owners, Project Managers, Business Analysts,



Quality Assurance teams, and technology teams to ensure business requirements are fully understood and implementedSupport the development of user acceptance testing (UAT) plans, test scenarios, and business validation activitiesCoordinate and participate in testing activities to ensure solutions meet business requirements and expectationsSupport change management, training, and implementation activities to facilitate successful adoption of current processes and solutionsAct as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure alignment throughout the delivery lifecycleRequired QualificationsUniversity degree or equivalent business experienceMore than 5 years of business analysis, process improvement, and/or project delivery experienceDemonstrated experience gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements throughout the project lifecycleStrong understanding of business analysis methodologies, process mapping, workflow design, and requirements management practicesAbility to handle multiple demands and competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder managementProven ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across business and technology teamsExperience facilitating workshops, interviews, and requirements gathering sessions with diverse stakeholder groupsAbility to create business process maps, user stories, use cases, functional requirements, and business documentationExperience supporting user acceptance testing, business readiness, and implementation activitiesStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teamsKnowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologiesExperience working on technology-enabled business transformation, process improvement, or product initiativesWhen You Join Our TeamWe'll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.We'll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.As part of our global team, we'll support you in shaping the future you want to see.The role being advertised is an existing vacancy.About Manulife And John HancockManulife Financial Corporation is a leading international financial services provider, helping people make their decisions easier and lives better. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
