We are currently recruiting for Tactical Healthcare Security Officers for Valley Regional Hospital ** You must be located in the area to be considered. As a Tactical Healthcare Security Officer, you respond to alarms, emergency requests, and use your excellent verbal de-escalation skills to resolve incidents within the Emergency Department. You always maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling private information, and you never forget to smile while providing your incredible customer service.WHAT YOU WILL DO:You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidentsRespond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient mannerDisplay excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistanceThis role requires you to be physically fit and able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time of up to 3-4 hours in between break periods.Monitor for and elevate security concerns within the Emergency DepartmentAssist in developing security plans for high risk patientsProvide security presence and support throughout the Emergency DepartmentUtilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflictsOversee and support patient watch guards within the Emergency DepartmentWork closely with local Law Enforcement and Emergency ServicesEnsure the safety of staff, patients,



and visitors within the Emergency DepartmentAssist hospital staff with patient restraints as required or directed according to standard operating proceduresAdhere to all hospital policy and procedures and maintain complianceProvide exceptional customer service, with an exceptional smile.Prevent theft, violence or infraction of rules and regulationsMonitor site visitors and perform ID checks in accordance with site policies and proceduresRespond professionally to site emergencies (alarms, medical emergencies, fires and other urgent matters)Effectively communicate all suspicious activities, concerns, issues, and events to our dispatch team on behalf of the clients' assetsPrepare and maintain professional and effective reports regarding the activities, security violations, and hazardous occurrences on siteAlong with your dedication to utilizing PPE, you regularly patrol the facility so that no potential conflict leaves your sight.YOU'RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU:Must have minimum 1-2 years of experience in securityDiploma in Justice studies/police foundations is considered an assetAbility to obtain Security License for the province of Nova Scotia.Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor).English (oral and written) fluency is a must.Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) are pre-requisites of this position.
