You'll contribute directly to projects that help organizations unlock governed self‐service data at enterprise scale - giving you a fantastic opportunity to apply what you've learned in the classroom to real-world data challenges.Students currently enrolled in an applicable co‐op program at BCIT, UBC, UVic, or SFU will be considered for this role. Please note you must apply through your co‐op office as well and provide your academic transcript with your application.#LI‐DNIWhat You'll DoWork with senior engineers to design and implement data pipelines and ETL processes using modern frameworks like Snowflake, Apache Spark, AWS Glue and KafkaAssist in building scalable cloud data platforms on AWSContribute to knowledge graph and data ontology projects that enable richer data discovery and governanceLearn and apply GenAI-powered developer tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to accelerate development and gain experience with AI-assisted programmingParticipate in our "You Build It, You Run It" culture by contributing to monitoring, observability, and operations.Improve our CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Workflows and infrastructure-as-code practicesCollaborate in an agile environment that values innovation and teamwork, where your ideas and efforts will make a real impact onthe data platform strategyParticipate in peer reviews for code reviews and design reviews to learn software engineering best practicesAnalyze, reproduce, and resolve technical problems in data processing workflows and cloud infrastructureDevelop and maintain automation tools for data quality, pipeline monitoring, and testing scenariosWhat You'll BringHave exposure to software development in Java or Python with basic understanding of object-oriented programming principlesHave basic knowledge of computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and problem-solving approachesHave an interest in data processing, databases, and distributed systems conceptsCan collaborate and communicate effectively in a team environmentAre self‐motivated with the ability to work proactively and seek guidance when neededHave a curiosity about cloud computing and modern data engineering practicesOther Nice to Haves:Experience with SQL and relational database conceptsInterest in big data technologies (e.G.,
