Department: Child and Adolescent Mental Health UnitAs part of the multidisciplinary team within the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program theYouth worker provide crisis stabilization, assessment, and treatment for clients and their families who experience psychiatric, social, emotional, and/or behavioral problems. The Child and Youth worker supports in the development of safety plans, develops and takes part in therapeutic activities, running both individual and group for youth and parents.QUALIFICATIONSSuccessful completion of a Child and Youth Worker Diploma from an accredited community college requiredRegistered with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counsellors requiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) Certificate required (recent within the last twelve months)Current Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Certificate an assetMinimum two (2) years experience in the field of mental health is an assetKnowledge/experience in mental health and withdrawal management is an assetKnowledge and experience in crisis assessment and safety planningExperience with running and leading groups with youth and parents.SKILLS/ABILITIESExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written,
