This is a hands-on role working under the direct supervision of our Director of Finance, giving you the opportunity to build your expertise in accounting for a multi-location, franchise-based business.What You'll DoManage full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenanceTake an active role in accounts receivable management, including invoicing, payment application, account reconciliations, aging reviews, collections, and follow-up on outstanding balancesPrepare for review GST returns and support other tax and regulatory reporting requirementsProcess and review payroll, including payroll reconciliations, vacation pay, employee changes, and related payroll reportingPrepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules for multiple entities and franchise locationsPerform financial statement analysis, identify trends and variances, and highlight items requiring management attentionSupport the Director of Finance with month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations, accruals, adjusting entries, and working papersAssist with budgeting, expense monitoring,
and variance analysisMaintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controlsPrepare reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation for year-end reviews and auditsIdentify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes, reporting, and financial workflows as the organization continues to growWhat We're Looking ForUniversity degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance3-6 years of progressive accounting experienceCPA designation, currently pursuing a CPA designation, or equivalent accounting qualification is considered an assetStrong practical experience with accounts receivable, GST, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end closeExperience preparing financial statements and management reports, with the ability to analyze results and identify unusual balances, trends, and variancesStrong Microsoft Excel skills and hands-on experience with accounting software; QuickBooks Online experience is an assetStrong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate and well-supported financial recordsOrganized and able to manage multiple entities, deadlines, and competing prioritiesProactive and comfortable taking ownership of assigned responsibilities while knowing when to elevate issuesStrong communication and problem-solving skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced, growing,
