Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Knowledge Translation & Communications Lead - Health Promotion to join the Healthy Public Policy team.
As a Knowledge Translation & Communications Lead with VCH you will:
Be accountable for developing, planning, and implementing strategic health promotion communications materials and strategies on behalf of Vancouver Coastal Health's Office of the Chief MHO.
Play a crucial role in fulfilling internal and external communication needs in the context of the Healthy Public Policy and KT activities in the OCMHO.
Key activities and work products include knowledge translation and knowledge mobilization, data visualization, digital shareables, communication plans and strategies, report layout and graphic design, and strategically supporting campaigns and events or other initiatives to promote population health created within the Office of the Chief MHO.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in communication, desktop publishing and graphic design or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Five to seven (5-7) years of progressive related strategic multimedia communications experience.
Knowledge of the health care industry and/or public sector experience is a significant asset.
Knowledge & Abilities
Ability to work effectively and proactively with diverse teams engaged in different content areas relating to population health (Environmental, behavioral, and social determinants etc.).
Deep familiarity with and experience using Adobe Creative Suite products.
Competency with data visualization software.
Experience using Tableau is considered a major asset.Blends strategic insight into issue framing with ability to translate technical and scientific knowledge into publicly accessible and impactful messaging.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in campaigning and strategic communications.
Ability to translate data and health evidence into compelling visual formats, social media sharables, and other accessible content.
Traditional and social media campaigning and basic public relations competencies.
Uses advanced skills and experience in journalistic and business writing, as well as the skill to develop compelling written and multimedia presentations to target and engage a variety of external and internal stakeholders.
Ability to work with confidential government information with the highest degree of professional care and ethics.

Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
