Description
JOB SUMMARY
To provide millwright and handy work assistance to plant manufacturing and support services in terms of achieving facility goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH PERFORMING THE JOB
Clean, lubricate, and perform routine checks on mechanical equipment, conveyors, and motors to prevent unexpected breakdowns
Help disassemble, overhaul, and reassemble broken or worn-out machinery components like bearings, gears, and chains
Prepare work areas, organize tools, operate basic shop equipment, and help set up rigging or hoisting devices
Assist in positioning, leveling, and bolting new industrial machinery according to layout plans
Perform straightforward cutting, grinding, and tack-welding tasks under Millwright guidance
Adhere to manufacturing reporting, maintenance and documentation instructions in the department
Comply with all housekeeping and health and safety rules and regulations as related to manufacturing and support services.
Informing Production Manager of problems associated with production, quality or other issues.
Remain current with respect to PCB fabrication technology and manufacturing theory/methodology.
Responsible for advising and counseling the management team on legal issues which may arise regarding installation of machinery
Miscellaneous duties as assigned
SKILL/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB
Maintenance experience, proven problem-solving skills, strong communications skills, strong decision-making ability,
excellent leadership and people skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
Millwright knowledge preferred
Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hand/power tools, and the ability to read simple blueprints or schematics
Must have excellent reading, writing and computer literacy skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT REQUIRED TO PERFORM THE JOB
Strict adherence to workplace safety regulations, stamina for heavy lifting, and capacity for working in industrial environments
Duties can vary throughout each day as can the physical and mental efforts required to accomplish the tasks; they can range from climbing, kneeling, crouching, bending etc.
Periods of intense concentration and constant attention to detail are required in checking and verifying equipment problems and/or installation often with numerous interruptions and competing demands
Listening and mental attentiveness is required when obtaining information from suppliers
Subject to stress resulting from providing service to many different people or departments under simultaneous deadlines and from last minute rushes imposed by management
Is subject to all types of deadlines, both regular and predictable and those resulting from special requests or during peak periods; must be able to respond quickly to resolve problems and to internally determine requirements involving numerous competing and often conflicting deadlines
Occasionally required to travel for company business such as to suppliers etc.
