Enhance patient nutrition at Nova Scotia Health in Halifax as a Dietetic Technician. Conduct screenings and support patient dietary needs to improve overall health outcomes.
As a part time Dietetic Technician, you will work closely with the Clinical Dietitian to screen patients for nutrition risks and make vital referrals. Your role includes assessing Body Mass Index (BMI), monitoring weight loss, and managing menus using the computerized system. You will also provide straightforward nutritional education during meal rounds, ensuring each patient receives appropriate dietary support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct nutrition risk screenings for patients
• Calculate Body Mass Index and document patient data
• Manage meal rounds and menu input for dietary needs
• Provide basic nutritional education to patients
• Collaborate with the Clinical Dietitian for optimal care
Requirements:
• Food Service Supervisor certification or equivalent
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition principles
• Computer skills; familiarity with the Vision system preferred
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Bilingual (French) skills are advantageous
