We are committed to supporting children and families in our community.Please see our attached Vision Framework for more information:About the Role:The People & Culture - Systems & Structure Strategist plays a key role in strengthening the systems, structures, policies, and practices that support Compass Early Learning and Care's people, culture, and organizational effectiveness.



Working collaboratively within the People & Culture and Corporate teams, this role provides leadership for HR systems, workforce data, compliance, health and safety, policy development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Through a relationship-based and values-driven approach, the Strategist helps create sustainable systems and structures that support employee well-being, organizational growth, and alignment with the Compass Vision Framework.Some Accountabilities associated with the role include:People and CultureProvide leadership for the systems, structures, policies, and administrative infrastructure that support the People & Culture function.Work collaboratively with the team to support implementation of HR strategies and frameworks (i.e. compensation, succession planning, etc.) to support current needs and evolve for future opportunities.Steward the HRIS System, Role database and Data.Lead Compliance and Risk Management (including alignment with Legislation, Policy development and CELC Vision Framework).Lead and support organizational initiatives related to Health & Safety, employee wellness, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and workplace compliance.Collaborative LeadershipBuilding connections and relationships within our programs and teams.Following and living into Compass ELC mission, vision, values and policies.Collaborate with the Corporate Team on ongoing projects and participate in team meetings.Engage in ongoing professional learning and development opportunities.Apply a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens to all People and Culture and corporate practices.Benefits:Competitive wages (Living wage employer) (Provincial Wage Enhancements) (Shift Premiums)Mandatory Defined Pension Plan - 3% employee contribution and 3% employer contribution.Health and dental benefits, paramedical coverage and EFAP (Sparrow)Health Savings Account (HSA)- $500.00 per yearProfessional Development Opportunities (internal and External) (12 hours per year compensated in time in lieu of completed outside work hours)Reduced Child Care Expenses (20% discount)



when working a minimum of 15 hoursPaid RECE membership dues.Paid Time Off - starting at 4% vacation accrued annually on hours worked and 4% personal sick time accrued annually on hours workedUnpaid Time - an option for permanent staff to purchase up to 4 weeks of unpaid time that is prorated off of 24 paysSkills and Qualifications:RequiredPost-Secondary education in Human ResourcesClear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).Access to reliable transportation to travel to our locations occasionally.Leadership experience in People and Culture/Human Resources operations and administration.Knowledge, understanding and experience with the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and related legislation (AODA, OHRC).Experience leading HRIS and operational systems.
