DescriptionForemost has an immediate opening for a Sandblaster at our facility in Lloydminster, AB. The successful candidate will support our production team by safely and efficiently preparing steel components and fabricated products for coating while maintaining Foremost quality and safety standards.Responsibilities:Operate and service all equipment associated with sandblastingUse sandblasting equipment with specified mediaPrepare components to be protected from abrasivesConform to quality control standards and construction specifications, drawings, sketches, layout boards etc. and/or verbal instructionsRead, understand and follow working instructions/directions, policies and proceduresReport status of jobs in progress and upcoming production plansMaintain frequent contact with QC and Production to ensure all blasting requirements are metFollow the company safe work procedures and legislated safety requirementsKeep a clean work environmentComply with all WHMIS and environmental regulations regarding the storage, use and disposal of hazardous materialsAssist painters and insulators when needed and any other job-related tasksInspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure the required cleanliness and surface profile are achieved prior to coatingSet up, inspect and maintain blasting hoses, nozzles, air lines, respiratory equipment and related blasting equipment before useIdentify and report equipment defects, quality concerns or unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor promptlyProperly mask and protect machined surfaces, threads, openings and other areas that are not to be blastedFollow job-specific specifications and coordinate with Production and Quality Control to ensure work is completed to the required standard and scheduleMaintain blasting areas,



equipment and workspaces in a clean and orderly condition to support safe and efficient operationsQualifications:Minimum 2 year oil storage tank internal and external blasting experienceSandblasting experience would be an assetFamiliarity with tank, vessel and pipe coatingAbility to give and take clear direction; verbal and writtenAbility to safely perform physically demanding work, including standing for extended periods and working in confined or restricted areas as requiredStrong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship and safe work practicesAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentAbility to safely use required personal protective equipment and respiratory protection for abrasive blasting activitiesForklift, overhead crane or related material-handling experience would be considered an assetThis work is performed in a combination of environments and may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odours, fumes and oils.What we OfferCompetitive Compensation.In-depth Safety Program.
