Come live, work and play here in the Okanagan where adventure and nature are at your fingertips.About the RoleThe Upstream Support Facilitator provides assessment, case management, and support for youth and/or their families. This position provides outreachto youth identified through the Upstream Project and connects them to supports that help them remain in school, maintain stable housing, and improve the student's overall health and mental well-being. Additionally, this position supports youth who are part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.Position: Temporary Part-Time 20 hrs per week until January 31, 2027, with potential for extension.Compensation: $33.12 - $38.62 per hourIndirect Compensation3 weeks vacation,
which increases with length of service1 paid wellness day per yearPaid Birthday offPaid sick time which increases with length of service.Qualifications:Education and experienceDegree in child and youth care, social work or psychologyThree years of experience working with youth and families with complex needsJob skills and abilitiesWell-developed interpersonal, counselling, oral and written skillsStrong understanding of Trauma Informed PracticeUnderstands impact of colonization, residential schools and resulting intergenerational trauma in indigenous communitiesKnowledge of 2SLGBTQIA+ issuesIncorporates positive youth development and a strengths-based approachStrong knowledge of the bio-psycho-social factors that affect mental wellness including substance useProficient knowledge of group process and facilitation techniquesAbility to work effectively with participants, program team and other community professionalsAbility to work independentlyOther RequirementsCriminal Record Search in accordance with agency policyValid Unrestricted BC Driver's license and use of reliable vehicleCommunity Care Emergency First Aid Certificate - preferredNon Violent Crisis Intervention - preferredMental Health First Aid - preferredNaloxone Training- preferredEmployees must declare their vaccination status for COVID-19 and influenza; if vaccinated, documentation must be provided.We appreciate and thank all applicants for their interest; however, we will contact only those candidates shortlisted for an interview.The Bridge is an equal prospect employerPreferredBachelor's degree or better in Child and Youth Care or related field.
