About AMPS
Advanced Mining Qualified Services (AMPS) is a global mining technical services consultancy with offices in Canada, the United States, and Australia. Founded in 2011, AMPS specialises in operational engineering, mine surveying, training, and operational improvement, delivering high-quality technical outcomes at mining operations globally.
In North America, AMPS partners with leading specialist providers to deliver mine surveying services to underground & open pit operations. This role sits within that technical delivery framework, embedded directly on site with full backing from AMPS’s global technical team.
The Chance
AMPS is seeking an experienced underground mine surveyor to join our growing North American operations. This is a hands-on, production-focused role supporting underground mining clients across Canada and the United States.
You will be embedded with the operation, delivering practical surveying solutions in an environment that values competence, initiative, and professionalism. Strong technical support is available through AMPS’s global team, but you will be trusted to work independently and exercise sound professional judgement in the field.
What We’re Looking For
The following qualifications and experience are required or highly regarded:
Degree in Surveying, Spatial Science or related field; Advanced Diplomas considered on merit.
2+ years’ underground production surveying experience using contemporary total stations and GNSS-connected control.
12+ months’ experience with Deswik or equivalent, survey control checks and adjustments, void scanning, and monthly reconciliation/reporting.
Experience in gyroscopic surveys and aerial mapping through to final deliverables.
Ability to work independently underground and manage daily priorities.
English proficiency essential; French or Spanish highly regarded.

Competitive remuneration starting from $110,000pa
Standard hours of work are 40 hours per week.
Overtime opportunities may be available based on operational requirements, client needs, project schedules, and roster arrangements.
Standard vacation entitlements and vacation pay apply in accordance with applicable provincial employment legislation. AMPS supports flexible working arrangements where practical, taking into consideration client commitments, project requirements, and individual family circumstances.
The Right Person
You are an experienced underground surveyor who:
Takes pride in accurate, production-focused work and holds yourself to a high professional standard
Is comfortable working independently underground and making sound decisions in the field
Communicates clearly and professionally with mining crews and technical teams
Holds a relevant surveying degree and is ready to apply that foundation in a demanding operational environment
Is open to working across multiple sites and jurisdictions within North America.
