GrizzlyTrek is hiring Skilled Labourers for trenching work on our valued client's project about 15 minutes south of Strathmore, Alberta. This is hands-on, shovel work: you dig, shape and backfill trench by hand. The pay is $26 to $28 per hour. The work is project based, so it runs for the life of the project.

The Site
An open trench job in southern Alberta, about 15 minutes south of Strathmore. The crew digs by hand, so the work is physical, steady and outdoors. You will dig to depth and line, square up trench walls, transparent the bottom, and backfill once the work in the trench is done. If you like a job where the day's progress is something you can measure with a tape, this is it.

What You'll Do

Dig trench by hand with shovels to the depth and width called for

Shape, trim and clean out trench bottoms and walls

Backfill and tamp trench once the work is complete

Move, stage and stack material and tools on site

Keep the work area clear and follow site safety procedures

Work safely as part of a crew, around other trades and equipment

What You Bring

Hand digging or trenching experience, using a shovel all day

Physically fit and able to dig, bend,



lift and carry through a full shift outdoors

Reliable, on time and ready to take direction from the crew lead

A safety first attitude and your own basic PPE

Nice to Have

Ground disturbance or construction safety tickets (CSTS, Ground Disturbance)

Time on pipeline, utility, civil or construction sites

Work Environment

Outdoor work in all Alberta weather, including heat, cold, wind and dust

Repeated digging, bending, lifting and standing for the full shift

Work in and around trenches, with other trades and equipment nearby
