Forklift Operator (Sit-Down Counterbalance & Reach)
Job Description
This role focuses on safely operating sit-down counterbalance and reach forklifts to load and unload trucks, pick and stage orders, and support efficient warehouse operations. You work primarily indoors with occasional tasks in the yard, contributing to productivity, quality, and safety targets while maintaining high housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

Operate sit-down counterbalance forklifts safely and efficiently in a warehouse environment.

Unload and load trucks, ensuring freight is handled carefully and accurately.

Use reach forklifts to pick orders when certified and experienced on reach equipment.

Perform daily pre-inspections of all forklift equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.

Accurately pick, stack, wrap, and stage outbound freight to meet warehouse goals.

Work proficiently to achieve established Productivity, Quality, and Safety targets.

Maintain strict housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S protocols.

Report unsafe work conditions or environments promptly to support a safe workplace.

Replenish stock in designated locations to ensure inventory is organized and accessible.

Receive and locate products using RF scanning technology.

Support yard operations using larger forklifts when comfortable and trained.

Multitask effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Work with minimal supervision while maintaining high performance standards.

Perform ongoing physical activities, including standing for long periods and moving product as required.

Order pick in varying work conditions, including both inside the warehouse and outdoors.

Essential Skills

Certified and experienced sit-down counterbalance forklift operator with at least 1+ year of ticketed experience.

Ability to safely operate sit-down counterbalance forklifts and reach forklifts.

Proficiency in loading and unloading trucks using forklift equipment.

Comfort with working outdoors at times, including in the yard and outside of the warehouse.

Strong safety consciousness and commitment to following safety procedures.

High attention to detail when picking, stacking, wrapping, and staging freight.

Ability to perform ongoing physical activities and remain on your feet for long periods.





Capability to work with minimal supervision while meeting performance expectations.

Ability to multitask and adapt in a quick-paced, changing warehouse environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Certification and experience on reach forklifts and reach trucks are strong assets.

Experience with RF scanners and RF technology for receiving and locating products is an asset.

Experience with order picking in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Strong housekeeping habits and familiarity with 5S protocols.

Demonstrated ability to report and address unsafe work conditions promptly.

Work Environment
This is a non-union, contract position running until the end of the year, with a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The role involves ongoing physical activity, including standing for long periods and moving freight in a fast-paced warehouse setting. Most work takes place indoors, but some order picks and tasks occur outdoors in the yard, so you should be comfortable with varying weather conditions. You are expected to work with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. The dress code requires safety-toe work boots (STWB), and you must provide your own outerwear or gear for outdoor work if desired.

This is a Contract position based out of Abbotsford, BC.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.81 - $25.81/hr.





Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
