Contribute to vulnerable communities as a Housing Support Worker with Our Place Society. This part time position involves direct client engagement, wellness checks, and service advocacy in a supportive setting.
As a Housing Support Worker, you will collaborate with the Site Supervisor and team to address client needs and develop personalized support plans. Your role includes one-on-one counseling, maintaining a safe environment, and providing assistance in critical situations to ensure residents achieve their goals. Your impact is vital in fostering hope and belonging within marginalized populations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individual counseling and wellness checks
• Develop resident support and service plans
• Distribute supplies and assist with daily living tasks
• Engage with residents to promote independence
• Document and report on client progress and outcomes
Requirements:
• Diploma in human/social service field
• Minimum one year relevant experience
• Knowledge of harm reduction and crisis intervention
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
