The Shipping Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring our products are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time while providing excellent service to our customers.This posting is for a new position within the organization.The regular work schedule is: Monday to Thursday 4:00 p.M. to 3:00 a.M. and serviceMaintain relationships with transportation providers and support competitive freight pricingAssign loading sequences to support safe and productive loading and off-loading at customer locationsCommunicate loading requirements and priorities to truck loaders and the Shipping and Receiving teamPrepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including packing slips, purchase orders, bills of lading, and other required paperworkCoordinate incoming freight requirements and backhaul opportunities with PurchasingArrange courier services and coordinate order preparation, pickup, and required documentationCoordinate domestic, cross-border, and international shipping requirements as requiredMonitor shipments and proactively address delays, scheduling conflicts, carrier issues, and changing customer requirementsMaintain accurate shipping information and complete required data entry within company systemsEnsure shipping activities comply with applicable transportation and Ministry of Transportation requirementsProvide backup support to the Shipping and Receiving Manager as requiredSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping, scheduling, freight costs,
and transportation processesWHAT YOU WILL NEEDSecondary school diploma or equivalentPost-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is considered an assetPrevious experience in shipping, freight, transportation, logistics, or a manufacturing environment is an assetExperience coordinating carriers, deliveries, and freight is preferredStrong organizational, scheduling, and time-management skillsExcellent attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentationStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to changing schedules and requirementsStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively resolve shipping and transportation issuesAbility to build positive working relationships with customers, carriers, drivers, and internal teamsKnowledge of proper loading and transportation procedures is an assetKnowledge of Ministry of Transportation requirements and applicable transportation regulations is an assetUnderstanding of cross-border and international shipping and export requirements is an assetExperience with ERP or manufacturing software systems is an assetProficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systemsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing effectively as part of a teamAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing prioritiesSteelway Building Systems is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing an inclusive and accessible workplace.
