The Intervenor position, reporting to the Supervisor of Intervening Services, is crucial in helping individuals with combined hearing and sight loss navigate their setting. Candidates should hold a Diploma in Deafblind services or a related field, with three to five years of experience. Additional skills in ASL and bilingualism are beneficial, as this role requires frequent local travel to support clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a communicator for Deafblind clients
• Provide sighted guidance during appointments
• Assist clients with daily tasks and transportation
• Support clients on using assistive devices
• Facilitate interaction with surroundings
Requirements:
• Diploma in Deafblind services or equivalent
• 3-5 years' experience with Deafblind individuals
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle access
• Training in ASL and LSQ is an asset
• Bilingual (English/French) preferred
