Join AVI Health & Community Services as a Nutrition Cook in Victoria, BC, preparing nutritious meals for those living with HIV and hepatitis C. This role supports community wellness through cooking and relationship building.
As a Nutrition Cook, you will plan and prepare balanced meals for around 50 program participants. Your responsibilities include creating monthly menu plans, ordering ingredients within budget, and ensuring adherence to FoodSafe protocols. Building and maintaining positive relationships with participants is essential to foster a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and cook nutritious meals for program participants
• Maintain a clean workspace following health protocols
• Manage menu planning and food ordering tasks
• Engage with participants to build supportive relationships
• Use crisis response skills to support during challenges
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of relevant cooking experience
• FoodSafe Level 1 certification required
• Experience in a healthcare or social service context
• Knowledge of nutritional needs for HIV/HCV
• Solid communication and conflict resolution skills
