DescriptionThe Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Coordinator. This Part-time Fixed Termposition is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.Reporting to the Principal Investigator, with day-to-day direction provided by the Research Program Manager. The Research Coordinator will be (three days per week) responsible for supporting and coordinating a portfolio of projects focused on immunization research around immunization confidence, uptake, immunization education research and evaluation as well as pediatric infectious disease surveillance and research in the clinical as well as public health realms.Very occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support research activities, participant visits, project deadlines, or stakeholder meetings. The position is based at the Alberta Children's Hospital.Summary of Key ResponsibilitiesResearch CoordinationCoordinate day-to-day operational activities for clinical research studies, surveillance projects, and program evaluation initiativesDevelop and maintain study tracking tools, project timelines, and operational workflowsMonitor project milestones and deliverables to ensure studies remain on scheduleIdentify operational challenges and implement solutions in consultation with investigators and the Research & Evaluation Program ManagerParticipant Recruitment and Study ImplementationCoordinate participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, informed consent, scheduling, retention, and follow-up activitiesMaintain communication with participants and families throughout study participationRegulatory and Ethics CompliancePrepare and submit research ethics applications, amendments, renewals, deviations, and closure reportsMaintain regulatory and essential study documentationEnsure compliance with University of Calgary, Alberta Health Services, sponsor, Health Canada, and ICH-GCP requirementsData Collection and Quality ManagementCoordinate collection, entry, verification, and management of study dataConduct data quality assurance activities and maintain accurate research recordsSupport preparation of reports, presentations, and knowledge translation productsStakeholder Engagement and CommunicationServe as a liaison between investigators, healthcare providers, participants, community partners, sponsors, and regulatory bodiesOrganize and coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and follow up on action itemsSupport stakeholder engagement activities to promote collaboration and achievement of project objectivesFinancial and Administrative SupportAssist with study budgets, purchasing, expense tracking, invoicing,



and financial documentationMonitor project expenditures and support reporting requirementsCoordinate contracts, agreements, and administrative documentation as requiredQualifications / Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Biological Sciences, Epidemiology, Nursing, or a related disciplineMinimum 1-3 years of related experience in clinical research, health research, public health research, or project coordinationExperience coordinating clinical research studies, vaccine studies, surveillance projects, or healthcare-related initiatives is preferredKnowledge of University of Calgary research processes and procedures, including research ethics, Alberta Health Services operational approvals, contracts, agreements, and financial administrationCompletion of CITI, ICH-GCP, TCPS2 (CORE-2022), and Health Canada Division 5 training is preferredExperience working in pediatric health research, infectious diseases, immunization, vaccines, or public health is considered an assetExperience engaging patients, families, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders in research is considered an assetDemonstrated ability to establish and maintain team-oriented relationships with diverse stakeholdersStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated problem-solving ability and attention to detailAbility to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team environmentProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, REDCap, and electronic research documentation systemsFamiliarity with Connect Care, IRISS, Researcher Information Services, and PeopleSoft/eFin is considered an assetCurrent Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and up-to-date immunization records requiredApplication Deadline:October 13, 2026We would like to thank all applicants in advance for submitting their resumes.
