Required Skills & Experience

CPA designation (or equivalent professional accounting designation).

4-7 years of progressive external audit experience.

Experience leading or supervising financial statement audit engagements.

Strong understanding of:

Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS)

Financial Reporting Frameworks (IFRS and/or ASPE)

Risk Assessment and Internal Controls

Financial Statement Analysis

Proven ability to manage competing priorities and multiple client engagements simultaneously.

Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and professional judgment skills.

Excellent client-facing communication and relationship management abilities.

Demonstrated experience reviewing work and providing guidance to junior team members.

Proficiency with audit technologies, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Fully bilingual in French and English.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience auditing clients across multiple industries.

Exposure to public company audits and complex regulatory environments.

Experience utilizing data analytics, automation, or AI-enabled audit tools.

Previous experience mentoring or developing junior auditors in a professional services workplace.

Strong understanding of emerging audit technologies and innovation practices.

Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an Audit & Assurance Assistant Manager to join a leading professional services organization's Audit practice. This individual will play a key role in planning and executing financial statement audits while serving as a trusted advisor to clients across a variety of industries.





The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in audit and assurance, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for developing high-performing teams. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, leverage innovative audit technologies, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality audit engagements that provide meaningful business insights.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Lead the planning and execution of financial statement audit engagements from start to finish.

Manage and coordinate audit teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of audit services.

Develop a deep understanding of client operations, business processes, risks, and industry-specific challenges.

Analyze financial information, identify risks, challenge assumptions, and provide valuable insights to clients.

Apply professional judgment and technical accounting knowledge to assess complex audit issues and support client decision-making.

Utilize technology-enabled audit tools, data analytics, and innovative methodologies to enhance audit quality and efficiency.

Review audit workpapers, findings, and deliverables prepared by staff and senior team members.

Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle.

Coach, mentor, and develop junior professionals through performance feedback, technical guidance, and career development support.

Support practice initiatives focused on continuous improvement, innovation, and audit excellence.
