Human Resources Generalist reports to: Human Resources Manager

Position Summary The Human Resources Generalist provides hands‑on support across key areas of the employee lifecycle for office‑based and field teams. Serving as a responsive resource to employees and leaders, the Generalist is responsible for recruitment, performance management, employee leaves, Workers Compensation Board (WCB) claims, employee relations, policy guidance, workplace investigations, and related HR administration. Payroll and employee benefits administration are outside the scope of this role.
Role & Responsibilities Recruitment and Onboarding: Coordinate full‑cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, offers, and onboarding support.
Performance Management: Guide leaders through performance planning, coaching, documentation, progressive counselling, and performance improvement processes.

Accommodations, and WCB: Coordinate employee leaves of all types and administer WCB claims, including reporting, documentation, communication, accommodation support, and safe return‑to‑work planning in collaboration with employees, leaders, and external partners.
Employee Relations and Investigations: Respond to workplace concerns, provide practical guidance, support timely issue resolution, assist with fair and thorough workplace investigations, and upscale complex matters to the Human Resources Manager as appropriate.
Policy and Compliance: Interpret and consistently apply HR policies, procedures, collective agreements or organizational practices where applicable, and relevant employment legislation.
HR Administration: Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, prepare correspondence and documentation, and support required HR tracking, reporting, and audits.
Projects and Continuous Improvement: Contribute to HR initiatives, training, process improvements, and other assigned projects.
Skills & Qualifications Education and Designation: Post‑secondary education in Human Resources or a related field. A CPHR designation, or progress toward obtaining it, is an asset.
HR Experience: Three or more years of progressive human resources experience, including recruitment, performance management, leave administration, WCB claims, and employee relations.
Employment Practices: Working knowledge of applicable employment legislation, human rights obligations, workplace safety requirements, progressive counselling, workplace investigations, and HR best practices.
HR Systems and Technology: Experience using a Human Resources Information System or Human Resources Management System, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. SharePoint experience is an asset.
Communication and Service: Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement, and a responsive, employee‑focused approach.
Confidentiality and Integrity: Ability to handle sensitive employee information with a high degree of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Organization and Problem‑Solving: Ability to manage competing priorities,



meet deadlines, follow through on detailed and time‑sensitive matters, and develop practical solutions.
Travel Ability to travel between DASCH office and field locations as operationally required. A valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation are required.
Work Hours Full‑time position with regular Monday‑to‑Friday hours. Occasional evening and weekend availability is required based on operational needs. This is an on‑site role that supports employees and leaders across office and field locations.
Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $51,499 to $68,851. DASCH also offers a competitive benefits package.

Employment with DASCH is conditional upon satisfactory background and employment reference checks. Required background checks include a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (CRC), Adult Abuse Registry Check (AARC), and Child Abuse Registry Check (CARC).
