Join Seabird Island as a Holistic Wellness Specialist dedicated to enhancing community health through traditional practices. Develop culturally informed programs and workshops that honor First Nations traditions and promote holistic well-being.
In this pivotal role, you will focus on program development centered around First Nations values, providing health and wellness support to clients through community engagement and educational activities. This position requires a strong understanding of traditional wellness practices, as well as the ability to lead and implement creative programs promoting emotional, spiritual, physical, and mental health.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead development of traditional wellness programs reflecting First Nations values
• Facilitate healing events and traditional plant workshops
• Engage clients using a trauma-informed,
person-centered approach
• Build networks with external health service providers
• Document and report on program effectiveness and community impact
Requirements:
• Knowledge of First Nations wellness practices and protocols
• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, Social Work, or related field
• 2+ years experience in First Nations communities focusing on wellness
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability
• Valid driver's license and transportation for community projects
