All patient related details and program activities are coordinated to ensure the smooth operation of the clinics in accordance with the policies and procedures of the hospital.Qualifications2 year post-secondary diploma in Office Administration - Health Services from an accredited school is requiredMedical terminology certificate requiredMinimum of 2 years of current (within the last 2 years) experience providing adminitrative support in a busy medical outpatient environment requiredDemonstrated extensive knowledge and experience EPIC hospital software for patient registration and patient appointment booking; Superuser template build and knowledge related to reporting in EPIC is requiredIntermediate skill level is required for MS Word and ExcelIntermediate skill level is required for medical terminology medical spelling typing and spellingClerical testing may be required as part of the selection processApplicants must have demonstrated an ability to accept responsibility plan prioritize and complete tasks with minimal supervision.



Must be able to perform effectively both independently and as a team memberA major component of the position is the ability to function calmly and efficiently in a friendly manner completing multiple tasks and providing customer service Effective tactful and confidential communication in person and on the telephone is essentialExperience in GI and/or internal medicine environment an assetMust demonstrate a skilled attitude and behaviourMust have excellent organizational analytical and problem-solving skills experience with scheduling is requiredMust be capable of performing all related dutiesGood work performance and attendance record is essentialResponsibilitiesDuties include reception and registration of patients answering telephones calling patients to confirm appointments relaying messages booking patients for various tests and doctor visits typing reports and correspondence submitting reports transcription filing chart preparation and other related clerical duties as assigned by Ambulatory Clinic Supervisor and/or Manager.St. Joseph’s Health System (SJHS) and its member organizations are equal opportunity employers and strives for equity, inclusiveness, and diversity in all programs, practices, facilities, and people.
