and empowerment with Job SeekersStrong commitment to advocacy and inclusionKnowledge of community resourcesDemonstrated practice of trauma-informed care principlesClear understanding of professional boundaries and ethical practicesComputer literacy with good knowledge of the Internet and job sitesWhat You'll Do:Provide trauma-informed, lived-experience-based mentorship to Job Seekers facing barriers such as mental health challenges, substance use recovery, and long-term unemploymentCo-facilitate bi-weekly Peer Cafés with the Service Navigator, on various topicsServe as a visible example that recovery and employment success are achievable, while supporting motivation and goal settingEstablish trusting, respectful, and non-judgmental relationships with Job SeekersShare personal lived experience appropriately to support Job SeekersProvide mentorship and encouragement in 1:1 or group-based peer interactionsPromote wellness, resilience, and harm-reduction practicesObserve and report changes in participant well-being while maintaining appropriate boundariesRespond appropriately to crisis situations by following established protocols and making referrals as neededSupport participants in accessing community resources, services, and supportsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams, community partners, and service providersAbout the E6 Initiative:TheE6 Initiative (Engage-Encourage-Educate-Empower-Employ-Enrich) is an innovative service that empowers individuals with mental health disabilities to engage in the labour market. Participants work closely with a dedicated job coach to develop mental health management strategies, build essential employment skills, and receive personalized job search coaching.The E6 Initiative also supports employers in inclusive hiring practices.No phone calls please.
