Mental Health Capacity Building ProgramsMedicine Hat Public School Division HUG Success Coach Elementary School Program Mental Health Capacity Building ProgramsThis is a temporary position intended to provide coverage for an employee currently on leave. The assignment is expected to be approximately three months, but may be shorter or longer depending on operational needs and the employee's return-to-work status.Temporary Full time (covering a leave)Details Of PositionTemporary full-time position working 37.5 hours per weekMonday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. (with flexibility to work outside of these hours as required)$42,230 - $51,294 (starting place on the grid will be determined by experience)ResponsibilitiesExperience with delivering programming and comfortable with public speakingExperience working with Elementary School studentsFamiliar with the developmental, educational, emotional, social, and recreational needs of children, youth, and familiesThe ability to work in multiple schools.Flexibility to work outside of regular working hours,
including evenings and weekends for eventsTakes initiative and is able to work independently as well as work in team settingsDevelop and implement universal mental health programming for classroom and community implementationKnowledge regarding community resources that will meet or enhance the person servedAbility to work during the summer and actively participate in recreational and leisure activities with students and their familiesEducation and QualificationsA Diploma in related health or social sciences will be considered an assetKnowledgeable about addiction and Mental Health serviceA reliable vehicle in good repair and valid class 5 driver's licenseCurrent First Aid and CPRCurrent Assist TrainingCurrent Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector) & Child Intervention CheckExcellent organizational skills, strong teamwork skills, the ability to prioritize multiple demands, excellent interpersonal skills, time management, flexibility and initiativeExperienceMinimum two years of experience in addiction and mental health or a health/human service-related roleExperienced working with elementary students age 4-12 in large and small group settingsComfortable with public speaking, with the ability to deliver presentations and programming to both large and small groupsAble to work well with a team and work with community agenciesCompetent in the use of technology (including Google email and internet navigation)Salary commensurate with education and experience. Successful applicants work 12 months a year.
