Make a positive impact as a Counsellor at the Crisis Centre in London, Ontario. This part time role requires a psychosocial response for crisis resolution through direct service and community support.
As a Counsellor, you will assess client needs by providing in-person or virtual support to individuals in crisis. Your focus will be on establishing therapeutic relationships while facilitating referrals to support services. This role is pivotal in empowering individuals to navigate their challenges and regain stability in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess mental health and addiction needs promptly
• Establish therapeutic relationships for effective engagement
• Provide short-term follow-up support for transition
• Advocate for individuals accessing services and supports
• Implement coping strategies to enhance well-being
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in social work or psychology
• Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in mental health preferred
