Hellamaid is a fast-growing Canadian home and commercial cleaning company headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario. We operate across multiple provinces and are building a technology-driven, franchise-focused company with a growing network of locations.We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join our team and take ownership of the day-to-day finance and accounting operations of the business.This is an important role. You will work closely with our operations team and management and will also work alongside our external accounting firm, which currently manages our year-end accounting, tax filings and other higher-level accounting matters.The right person will eventually have the opportunity to grow with the company as our internal finance function expands.About the RoleAs our Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for keeping Hellamaid's day-to-day financial operations accurate, organized and up to date.This is a hands-on role. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with numbers, systems and details and who can independently manage recurring accounting processes.Key ResponsibilitiesContractor & Employee PayrollProcess weekly payments for our network of cleaning contractorsReview cleaner timesheets and payment informationProcess bonuses, tips,



adjustments and other payment changesCalculate and process approved mileage paymentsProcess employee payroll and maintain payroll recordsCoordinate payroll-related information and resolve discrepanciesAccounts PayableEnter and code vendor invoicesVerify invoices and obtain appropriate approvalsProcess vendor paymentsManage recurring expenses and supplier accountsMaintain accurate AP recordsAccounts Receivable & InvoicingPrepare and issue invoices to commercial clientsMonitor outstanding invoices and assist with collectionsReconcile customer paymentsIssue franchise-related invoices, including royalties and applicable feesMaintain accurate AR agingBookkeeping & ReconciliationsMaintain accurate day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks OnlineReconcile bank and credit card accountsRecord and categorize transactionsReview transactions for accuracy and completenessAssist with month-end closePrepare basic financial reports and supporting schedulesMulti-Location & Multi-Province AccountingTrack revenue and expenses across multiple Hellamaid locationsMaintain appropriate QuickBooks classes/locations and chart of accountsTrack net sales across different provincesEnsure sales, refunds, discounts, taxes and adjustments are properly recordedAssist with HST/GST reconciliation and reporting schedulesFranchise AccountingPrepare recurring franchise royalty invoicesInvoice franchise fees and other applicable chargesTrack franchise receivablesMaintain accurate franchise-related accounting recordsOther Finance OperationsProcess payments to virtual assistants and other contractorsMaintain organized financial documentationAssist management with financial reporting and analysisWork with external accounting firm to provide accurate records and supporting documentation for year-endIdentify errors,



inconsistencies and opportunities to improve accounting processesWhat We're Looking For2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experienceExperience with QuickBooks OnlineExperience with Canadian payrollExperience with AP and ARExperience with bank and credit card reconciliationsStrong understanding of bookkeeping fundamentalsStrong Excel/Google Sheets skillsExcellent attention to detailAbility to manage confidential financial informationAbility to work independently and take ownership of recurring processesStrongly PreferredExperience with multi-location businessesExperience with multiple Canadian provincesExperience with HST/GSTExperience processing contractor paymentsExperience with high-volume payroll or weekly contractor paymentsQuickBooks Online Advanced experienceExperience with Wagepoint, ADP, Ceridian, Wagepoint or similar payroll systemsExperience working with an external accounting firmExperience in a franchise, service, staffing, construction, property management or other multi-location businessCPA designation is not required.We are more interested in practical accounting experience, attention to detail and the ability to independently manage day-to-day finance operations.What Success Looks LikeWithin your first 90 days, you should be able to independently manage the majority of Hellamaid's recurring finance processes.You will become the person our operations team can rely on for:Accurate and timely contractor paymentsAccurate employee payrollClean AP and ARTimely commercial invoicingAccurate franchise royalty invoicingUp-to-date bookkeepingReconciled accountsReliable location and provincial sales reportingOrganized records for our external accountantsMost importantly, nothing should fall through the cracks.Growth OpportunityHellamaid is growing quickly, and this role is intended to grow with the company.Initially, you will work closely with our management team and our external accounting firm.
