Position Information:

Registered Nurses are responsible for providing patient-centered care, assessing patient health, developing and implementing care plans and delivering direct patient care. Registered Nurses provide education and support to patients, families and caregivers to promote understanding and self-management while working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.

Essential Job Functions

1. Report concerns related to staffing levels and patient acuity to Director of Patient Care.
2. Assesses the health status of assigned patients on the unit as outlined in the Standards of Nursing Practice.
3. Works with the patient and family/caregivers to formulate a patient centered plan of care.
4. Advocates for patients to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
5. Utilizes time management skills to provide care to patients and delegates or directs other team members as appropriate.
6. Works collaboratively with the Director and the healthcare team to problem solve, plan, implement and evaluate unit specific improvement strategies

Qualifications:
- Current Certificate of Competence from College of Nurses of Ontario
- Degree in Nursing – Required
- Minimum 5 years current Emergency Nursing experience – Required in Woodstock Hospital
- ACLS, PALS, ENPC, NRP, TNCC or ATLS, NVCI, CTAS, eCTAS- Required
- CTAS instructor –Required
- Emergency Nurse Certification- Required
- Practical experience in the field of adult education
- Excellent ability to utilize multiple methods of education delivery
- Experience and knowledge of project management, development, evaluation and creative learning strategies
- Demonstrated leadership in facilitating committees/educational events
- Experience in development of policies and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills




- Knowledge of equipment and computer software
- Superior/ superuser knowledge of First Net/ CERNER applications and processes
- Knowledge and /or certification in Lean Methodology
- Self-direction and flexibility essential
- If internal, Excellent attendance – Required

Salary Range: $41.15hr - $58.98/hr
