309A Electrician / 5th-Year Apprentice

Peaks Electric Ltd. is looking for a licensed 309A Electrician or experienced 5th-year 309A Apprentice to join our growing team.

We are a residential and commercial electrical contractor serving Collingwood and the surrounding area. Our work includes custom new home wiring, service calls, troubleshooting, renovations, upgrades, and commercial electrical work.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with customers, and is comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for a job from planning through completion.

Responsibilities

- Residential and commercial electrical installations
- Custom new home wiring from rough-in through finishing
- Renovations, upgrades, and service work
- Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues
- Planning jobs and determining material requirements
- Reading drawings, plans, and specifications
- Completing service calls independently, including communicating with customers, diagnosing issues, determining required materials, and completing repairs
- Communicating professionally with homeowners, builders, and other trades
- Maintaining clean, organized, and professional job sites
- Completing work safely and efficiently to a high standard of workmanship
- Working both independently and as part of a team

Requirements Applicants must be a licensed 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician or 5th-year 309A Apprentice and have relevant experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work.





The successful candidate must

- Reside in Collingwood or a neighbouring community within the surrounding area
- Have experience with custom homes, renovations, service calls, and electrical troubleshooting
- Be capable of planning and organizing work with minimal supervision
- Have solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Be professional and comfortable communicating directly with customers
- Be comfortable working at heights, from ladders, and on lifts
- Be willing and able to work outdoors in cold and changing weather conditions
- Have a valid driver’s licence
- Be dependable, punctual, organized, and committed to quality workmanship
- Follow safe work practices and applicable Ontario electrical requirements

Successful candidates may be required, as a condition of employment, to provide a driver’s abstract acceptable for company vehicle insurance purposes and complete a satisfactory background check relevant to the requirements of the position. Tools The successful candidate is required to supply their own:
- Standard electrical hand tools
- Drill
- Impact driver

All other required power tools, specialty tools, and equipment will be provided by Peaks Electric Ltd.



Hours & Scheduling

This is a full-time position. Daily start and finish times may vary based on scheduled service calls, project requirements, travel time, and customer needs. Applicants should be comfortable with a work schedule that may vary from day to day.

Compensation

$30.00–$38.00 per hour, based on licensing, experience, skill level, and ability to work independently.

About the Position

This is a hands-on position with a variety of work. One day may involve wiring a custom home and the next may involve troubleshooting a service call, completing an upgrade, or working on a commercial project.

A large portion of our work is completed directly in customers’ homes and businesses. Professionalism, communication, cleanliness, and customer service are important parts of this position. We are looking for someone who can confidently represent Peaks Electric while delivering clean, professional electrical work.
