Build your territory. Win new customers. Grow with HCE Telecom.
HCE Telecom is looking for a self-directed B2B sales professional who knows how to create opportunities, build relationships, and win business. You bring a repeatable approach to prospecting and closing, a consistent record of results, and the drive to build a territory with autonomy and accountability.
This is a hands-on, quota-carrying individual contributor role focused primarily on winning new customers rather than servicing an inherited book of accounts. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Development and Product Strategy, you will develop new business across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA), including Durham Region.
Your focus will be mid-market businesses and smaller organizations with significant connectivity and technology needs, including businesses with multiple locations or operations that depend on reliable, secure networks. You will sell business internet, private networks, voice, cybersecurity, and managed IT solutions.
At HCE, you will work directly with a dedicated Sales Engineer and colleagues in Product and Operations to turn customer needs into practical solutions. You will have room to shape your territory plan, build referral relationships, and pursue opportunities where HCE can deliver meaningful customer value and profitable growth.
What HCE offers:
- Rewards linked to performance. A competitive base salary and performance-based incentives, with the opportunity to increase your earnings through consistent new-business results.
- Autonomy backed by support. Room to build your territory, a structured ramp period, Sales Engineer support, and collaboration with Product, Operations, and Finance.
- Benefits and room to grow. Health and wellness benefits, an employee pension plan, and the opportunity to build your sales career through measurable impact.
What you will own:
- Build and convert your pipeline. Develop a focused territory plan aligned with customer needs and HCE’s service capabilities. Generate qualified opportunities through direct outreach, referrals, business networks, events, and partners. Maintain a consistent prospecting rhythm and own the sale from first contact through discovery, proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement.
- Sell solutions that matter to customers.
Understand business priorities, operational challenges, and buying criteria. Translate technology into clear value, engage technical and non-technical decision-makers, and recommend solutions that fit. Set realistic expectations on scope, timing, and delivery.
- Bring the right team to each opportunity. Engage your Sales Engineer on technical design, Product on solution fit, Operations on serviceability and delivery readiness, and Finance on commercial terms. Involve colleagues early, clarify responsibilities, and keep opportunities moving.
- Deliver a strong customer handoff. Coordinate a thorough transition to implementation, with clear commitments, responsibilities, and next steps. Stay engaged on commercial commitments and help resolve issues with the appropriate team while maintaining your focus on new-business development.
- Run a disciplined sales business. Maintain accurate CRM records, clear next steps, credible close plans, and reliable forecasts. Use sound pricing and approval discipline to protect profitable growth. Review results, adapt your approach, and build on what works.
What you bring:
- Relevant B2B sales experience. Typically 5–8 years in telecom, technology, managed services, cybersecurity, or IT infrastructure, including territory ownership and full-cycle selling. Relevant experience and sustained results matter more than exact tenure.
- A repeatable record of new-business results. Evidence of self-sourcing pipeline, winning new customers, and meeting or exceeding targets across multiple sales periods. You can explain the habits behind your results and how you adapt when performance falls short.
- Strong relationship-building skills. The ability to engage business owners, IT leaders, decision-makers, and referral partners, and turn relationships into qualified opportunities. You can build an active market presence and expand your reach across the GTHA.
- Initiative and accountability. You set priorities,
organize your week, and maintain momentum independently, with clear goals and regular coaching. You take ownership of your activity, forecast, and results.
- Customer focus and commercial judgement. Solid discovery, proposal, negotiation, and closing skills. You navigate multi-party decisions, balance customer value with profitable growth, and work effectively with technical and operational colleagues.
- A hands-on, collaborative approach. You follow through on commitments, surface risks early, and bring practical recommendations. You can travel throughout the GTHA, including Durham Region, for customer meetings and business development.
How success will be measured
Your primary measure is consistent achievement of quarterly and annual new-business revenue targets from mid-market and strategic small-business customers. We will also assess profitable growth, steady self-generated pipeline, repeatable new-customer wins, and forecast accuracy.
How you win matters. Success includes effective teamwork, well-scoped solutions, smooth customer handoffs, and customer outcomes that earn trust and create the foundation for long-term relationships.
