Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounting Administrator to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage core financial processes, ensure accurate bookkeeping, and support the overall financial health of the college. Your expertise in accounting software and financial reconciliation will help maintain seamless operations and uphold our commitment to excellence.
Duties
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections
- Perform account reconciliations for bank statements and ledger accounts to maintain accuracy
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero to record transactions and generate reports
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and resolve issues promptly
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Support budgeting activities by tracking expenses and preparing financial summaries
- Assist with preparation of T2202's for distribution to current and former students
- Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and documentation for audit readiness
Requirements
- Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable procedures
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and bank reconciliation tasks
- Familiarity with payroll processing and related compliance standards
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and vendors
- Prior experience in an educational or institutional setting is a plus but not required
