Accurate Door & Hardware Co. is a locally owned business serving British Columbia’s construction industry for more than 50 years. We supply hollow metal doors and frames, commercial wood doors, prehung doors, architectural hardware, washroom partitions, and accessories for commercial, multi-family residential, and institutional projects. Our customers include contractors, property managers, locksmiths, schools, and hospitals.

About the Role

We are looking for an organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our office team. This position supports daily accounting operations, with a focus on accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll data entry using our custom ERP system.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with numbers, keeps accurate records, and follows through on outstanding tasks. You should be comfortable learning new software, communicating with customers and suppliers, and handling confidential information professionally.

Key Responsibilities

- Accounts receivable: Enter customer invoices, credit notes, and payments; apply payments to the correct accounts; prepare statements; and assist with following up on outstanding balances.
- Accounts payable: Enter supplier invoices and credits, match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents, check approvals, and reconcile supplier statements.
- Payroll entry: Review approved timesheets for completeness and enter regular hours, overtime, vacation, and other approved payroll information. Flag discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
- Reconciliations and follow-up: Investigate routine account discrepancies, obtain missing documents, and communicate with customers, suppliers, and coworkers to resolve questions.
- Recordkeeping:



Maintain organized electronic accounting and payroll records while protecting confidential company and employee information.
- General accounting support: Assist with payment preparation, month-end documentation, and other related administrative duties under established review and approval procedures.

Qualifications
- Previous experience in an accounting clerk, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or payroll-entry position is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of accounting procedures, invoice processing, and reconciliations.
- Accurate data-entry skills, familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Outlook, and the ability to learn a custom ERP system.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to meet recurring deadlines.
- Professional communication skills, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Experience in construction, building materials, distribution, or a related industry is an asset, but is not required.

What We Offer A full time office position with a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule, annual compensation of $38,000–$45,000 depending on experience, and benefits available after successful completion of probation. This position provides experience across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll administration within an established local business.
