At BGC Cochrane & Area, Child Development Mentors play an essential role in providing exceptional, high quality childcare in our licensed program. For over 30 years we have supported children, youth and families in Cochrane & Area through our Out of School Care (K-6), Summer Camps, Youth programs, Youth Outreach services, BGC Day Homes and community partnerships, they report directly to our OSC Program Supervisors. Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Administration and Records Support professional to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our organization by managing administrative tasks, maintaining accurate records, and providing exceptional customer service. This position is grant funded and only applicants between the ages of 18 and 24 will be considered.
Duties:
HR Administrators handle a wide range of administrative tasks within the organization, therefore they must be able to organize and prioritize. Their main tasks and responsibilities include:
- Support multiple BGC recruitment initiatives through job postings, preparing interview questions, applicant screening, interviewing, selection, reference checking, etc.
- Support the delivery of HR processing and data entry by maintaining digital and electronic records of employees.
- Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc.).
- Support the delivery of payroll processing including position changes, salary changes, data entry on new hires and perks and processing payroll.
- Updating employee holiday and sickness records
- Support the administration of employee group benefits.
- Track and maintain employee licensing requirements compliance in conjunction with program management.
- Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc.) and take minutes.
- Deliver the employee recognition function including tracking budgets.
- Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
- Support other functions as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated professional ethics, boundaries and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Superior written and interpersonal communication
- Attention to detail, accurate and consistency
- Exceptional record keeping
- Some knowledge of Employment Standards and Human Rights Legislation
- Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Human Resources or a Business Administration qualifications and a combination of equivalent education and related work experience is desirable
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 – 30.0 per week
