As an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP), you will work as a front-line healthcare provider in EHS Operations. This posting is for the Sub Urban Rural area for Edmonton. A successful applicant will work in a variety of roles in front-line ambulance work.
The successful applicant will conduct themselves respectfully with members of the public, colleagues and allied services. The successful applicant may work several shift patterns. As an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP), you will assess emergency scenes and patients and may transport ill or injured individuals from emergency scenes and between facilities.
You will provide patient care by administering medications, using advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts, and delivering electrical therapy. You may also lead the ALS team in providing clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes.You will support the readiness of vehicles by ensuring ambulances and other transport units, including non-emergent transport (NET) vehicles, are properly stocked, maintained, and equipped in accordance with established standards.The working environment for an ACP is demanding and includes exposure to heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, moving traffic, and industrial and agricultural equipment. As Per Rotation Emergency Health Services Classification: Advanced Care Paramedic (2190) Union: HSAA Facility PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Emergency Health Services Operations Eligible to work remotely within Alberta Multi-Site: Not Applicable Employee Class: Regular Full Time Hours per Shift: 12 Length of Shift in weeks: Shifts per Cycle: 28 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP).test, verified by a certificate provided by the Lifemark organization, is required for applicants who do not already hold a clinical position within EHS (VESST, Clinical Educator, EMR, PCP, ACP, or Community Paramedic).E. test must be completed no more than six (6) months prior to the date of the job offer.E. test and how to book your evaluation.Preference is given to those with previous EHS experience in a metro, suburban, rural, and interfacility setting and in other areas of Health Care and Public Safety.
