Faculty/Department Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance Unit Media, Art, and Performance-Visual Arts Employee Group URFA CUPE 5791 Job Family Category Sessional Number of Vacancies 1 Position Summary An introduction to the study of the visual arts. Lectures focus on contemporary art practices and objects, design elements, media and methods, and the meanings and contexts that inform the making and reception of art works. This is not a studio or an art history course.

Position Requirements The successful candidate must possess an MA/MFA in Visual Arts (BFA for current UofR MFA Visual Arts students), and evidence of a contemporary creative, research, and/or curatorial practice in Visual Arts. University teaching experience is preferred.

NOTE: This course also offers remote delivery. The capacity to teach on campus, the ability to pivot to remote delivery using URCourses and Zoom, with previous remote teaching experience, are an asset. Applicants, in their cover letters, should provide details of their familiarity with Moodle (or other Online Learning Environments, and Zoom).

Physical Demands Pay Grade Faculty Sessional Salary Range As per URFA Collective Agreement Status Other Work Hours

ART 100-303/029 is scheduled Fridays from 900-1145 in Yorkton, SK.

The sessional hired will either have to reside in Yorkton and surrounding area or be willing to drive to Yorkton to teach this class.
