Following retirements and a planned restructuring, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of almost 2,150 homes across Scotland. As Asset Manager, you’ll support the delivery of Melville Housing’s Asset Management strategy, helping to ensure our homes remain secure, sustainable, well maintained and fit for the future.
Working as part of our Asset Management team, you’ll have responsibility for delivering a professional and comprehensive repairs and maintenance service, while supporting the effective management of and investment in our housing stock. You’ll work closely with tenants, contractors, consultants, owners and colleagues to deliver high-quality outcomes.
With a strong focus on performance, value for money and continuous improvement, you’ll help shape and deliver our approach to asset management, ensuring our homes and investment programmes meet the needs of our customers both now and in the years ahead.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Line managing the Senior Property Officer and Property Assistants, supporting their development and helping them to deliver a high-quality service.
- Overseeing the delivery of a high-quality reactive repairs service to our tenants, ensuring it is responsive, efficient and focused on customer needs.
- Leading the management of void properties and void repairs, ensuring homes are brought back into use efficiently and to a high standard.
- Supporting the Head of Asset Management with the management of budgets and the delivery of our reactive, void and planned maintenance programmes.
- Leading on health and safety compliance across Melville’s housing stock and office premises.
- Promoting excellent customer service across Asset Management, building positive relationships with both internal and external customers and partners.

Full salary & employment details
This job comes with a salary of £56,107–£62,336 plus essential car user allowance, along with our four-day (Monday - Thursday),
32-hour working week with no reduction in salary and hybrid working between home and our Dalkeith office.
Other benefits include Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) pension scheme, 25 days annual leave and 13 public holidays per year (both pro rata for our four-day working week).
