• Science at the University of Toronto, St. George campus invites applications for a full-time teaching stream position in the area of Economics. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. Applicants must have earned a PhD in Economics by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter with a demonstrated record of excellence in teaching Economics. We seek candidates whose teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths. The successful candidate must be able to teach in a wide range of courses in the undergraduate program from large-enrollment, program-required courses within our introductory and intermediate economics sequences, to upper-year undergraduate courses within the candidate’s scholarship areas. We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative individuals pursuing an award-winning career in university teaching, with the demonstrated ability to enhance the domestic and international reputation of our undergraduate programs. The successful candidate must present transparent evidence of: excellence in teaching in a degree-granting program, including lecture preparation and delivery, curriculum development, and design of lecture materials and assessments; a demonstrated commitment in teaching-related scholarly activities; good judgement and a reflective approach to teaching innovation; the demonstrated capacity to expertly incorporate current research from at least two sub-fields within economics into our undergraduate courses

In addition, the successful candidate is expected to contribute to the broader Economics community at the University of Toronto through service and administrative activities, and through active participation in teaching and learning workshops, conferences, and mentoring.
