Company Description Sweet Addictions is a Toronto-based dessert café and catering brand specializing in premium pastries, custom cakes, and curated dessert experiences. With two locations in Toronto, the team serves both walk-in guests and large-scale catering orders for corporate clients, event planners, weddings, and private celebrations. The café focuses on visually stunning desserts that are crafted to impress both the eye and the palate, elevating everyday visits and special occasions.

Services include custom dessert tables, corporate catering and client gifting, bulk pastry orders, and specialty cakes designed to meet diverse customer needs across the city.

Role Description The Barista/Cashier at Sweet Addictions is a full-time, on-site role based in Sherbourne. The individual in this role prepares and serves specialty coffee, tea, and café beverages, supports basic food preparation for pastries and desserts, and ensures the display cases and counters are stocked and visually appealing. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting guests, providing friendly and efficient customer service, processing orders at the cash register and POS system, handling payments accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized café environment.

The role also involves restocking supplies, following food safety and hygiene standards, coordinating with the kitchen and catering team on larger orders,



and supporting opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications

- Solid Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills to create a welcoming, professional, and inclusive experience for all guests.
- Barista skills, including preparing espresso-based drinks, operating café equipment safely, and following beverage recipes consistently.
- Clear Communication skills for interacting with customers, collaborating with team members, and accurately relaying orders and special requests.
- Basic Food Preparation experience, with attention to food safety, hygiene standards, and careful handling of pastries and desserts.
- Reliable time management, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfort standing for extended periods.
- Availability to work a full-time schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed.
- Ability to lift and move light to moderate boxes and supplies and follow health and safety guidelines.
- Previous barista experience is required (1 year minimum)
