Job Summary:
We’re looking for a BAS Engineering Technologist to design and support building automation systems from engineering through commissioning. This role includes troubleshooting customer systems, supporting BMS/low-voltage projects, and ensuring quality, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and ownership throughout the service order process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop P&ID; drawings, panel layouts, network layouts, and wiring diagrams based on customer requirements and specifications.
- Review tender and IFC drawings/specifications to define project scope.
- Identify design gaps and communicate with clients to ensure scope requirements are met.
- Select and size equipment, sensors, controls, dampers, and valves to meet project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Participate in estimate reviews to ensure designs meet financial and quality targets.
- Program building control systems to deliver functional, energy-efficient solutions.
- Test programming to confirm compliance.
- Communicate with owners, consultants, contractors, and team members to support smooth project delivery.
- Work with the Project Manager to issue as-built and close-out documents.
- Maintain knowledge of Delta hardware, software, tools, and applications.
- Advise owners and contractors on control strategies and project options when specifications are not provided.
- Develop commissioning checklists for project startup, checkout, and commissioning.
- Perform onsite commissioning, startup, and owner demonstrations.
- Coordinate turnover meetings with Project Managers and Sales to gather engineering information.
- Participate in team and Engineering meetings.
Qualifications:
- Technologist Diploma in Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of BAS Engineering Technologist or BAS Engineer experience.
- Strong leadership skills to support teams and business objectives.
- Strong understanding of HVAC controls and BAS system components.
- Ability to assess site conditions and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Building Technology solutions.
- Strong communication, presentation, technical, and financial skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Teams.
- Proficient programming abilities.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Able to manage multiple projects and clients in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, and integrated project teams.
- Knowledge of building, electrical, mechanical, ASHRAE, and NFPA codes/standards.
- Strong urgency and prioritization skills.
The salary range is $75,000 to $110,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data. The base salary is just one component of Ainsworth’s total compensation package,
