About the Role

King Cole Catering is looking for a reliable and hardworking Breakfast & Prep Cook to join our kitchen team.

This role is responsible for preparing hot breakfast catering orders for our clients, including events and meetings at Buffalo Crossing at FortWhyte Alive. Our breakfast menu includes items such as scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, pastries and fresh fruit trays.

This is not a traditional restaurant breakfast position. Food is prepared in our commercial kitchen, carefully portioned and packaged, and then transported for delivery or service at the event location. When breakfast orders are complete, this position will assist with general food preparation for upcoming catering events.

Applicants must be available for very early morning shifts, with some shifts beginning as early as 3:00 a.m. A valid driver’s licence is required.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook hot breakfast items according to KCC recipes, portions and presentation standards
- Prepare breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, fruit trays and other menu items
- Ensure catering orders are complete, accurately portioned and ready on time
- Package and label food for safe transportation and delivery
- Load catering orders, equipment and supplies as required
- Assist with deliveries to Buffalo Crossing and other client locations
- Complete general prep work for upcoming catering events after breakfast production
- Follow all food-safety, temperature-control and allergen procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized and well-stocked workstation
- Wash dishes and complete kitchen cleaning and closing tasks
- Communicate shortages,



delays or concerns to the kitchen leadership team
- Assist with receiving, rotating and storing ingredients and supplies
- Support the kitchen team with other duties as needed

What We’re Looking For

- Previous cooking, food-preparation or commercial-kitchen experience (minimum 3-5 years experience)
- Dependable and punctual, especially for early morning shifts
- Available to begin work as early as 3:00 a.m. when required
- Valid driver’s licence and a safe driving record
- Comfortable driving in Winnipeg and delivering to event locations
- Able to work independently and follow written prep lists and event details
- Organized and able to complete time-sensitive orders accurately
- Knowledge of safe food handling, storage and sanitation practices
- Able to lift and carry food pans, boxes and catering equipment
- Comfortable working on your feet in a fast-paced kitchen
- Willing to assist with cleaning, dishes and general kitchen duties
- Food Handler Certificate is preferred
