We're building a relationship-oriented bank for the modern world. The Controllership group provides finance services to CIBC's businesses through effective governance and decision support processes. These services include financial, management and regulatory reporting, maintenance of accounting records, financial analysis and planning, tax planning and compliance, treasury, investor relations, and regular reviews of business line performance.As a Business Analyst, you will be involved in Finance's process improvement program, development of new or existing Controllership , Capital Markets and Wholesale Banking initiatives and assisting Middle Office analysts on maintaining existing processes and development of new reports and testing of new systems or databases to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Depending on the project, you may also provide support to Front Office, Risk Management and Finance and interact with business partners (all levels). Details on your work arrangement (proportion of in office and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview. You must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education and returning to full time studies after term to be eligible, however, you do not need to be in a registered Co-Op program to be considered for this role Winter 2027 (January - April) Problem solving - you take initiative to develop creative solutions.

You have solid working knowledge of database design, DB management, and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on advanced Excel (including VBA and designing libraries) or programming such as Java, PHP or Python.
