ABOUT SOFVIE

Sofvie Inc. is a Canadian software company headquartered in Sudbury, Ontario. Built for miners, by miners, Sofvie was founded on a easy belief: everyone deserves to go home safely at the end of every shift. When operations run with a high level of operational excellence, safety and quality follow.

Our flagship product, the Sofvie Secure Performance Platform, is built for high-risk industrial operations. Sofvie replaces paper forms, spreadsheets, and disconnected systems with a single source of truth that connects frontline workers with Safety and Operations leaders. Workers get tools that are fast and easy to use in the field, while leaders get the visibility and data they need to identify risk, make better decisions, and improve operational performance.

With deep roots in underground mining, Sofvie is trusted by organizations including Glencore, Hudbay Minerals, Epiroc, Alamos Gold, and McEwen Mining, alongside more than 100 other organizations across North America. We’re also expanding our footprint across construction, energy and utilities, oil and gas, and manufacturing.

We’re a growing team building out our go-to-market function as we scale.

THE ROLE

We’re hiring our first dedicated Business Development Representative to help build and grow Sofvie’s outbound sales motion. Your primary focus will be generating qualified pipeline with mining operators and contractors, while also developing opportunities across other high-risk industries including construction, energy and utilities, and manufacturing.

You’ll be the first conversation many prospective customers have with Sofvie, connecting with Safety, Operations, and Executive leaders to understand their challenges and introduce them to a better way of managing safety and operational performance.

We’re looking for someone driven, curious,

and coachable who is comfortable picking up the phone and creating opportunities from scratch. You’ll work closely with sales leadership to refine our messaging, cadences, targeting, and outbound process as we grow, with a clear development path toward an Account Executive role.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Drive outbound prospecting: Run multi-channel outbound sequences across phone, personalized email, and LinkedIn to engage target accounts across mining and other high-risk industries.
- Build and work target account lists: Identify organizations that fit our ICP, find the right contacts, and map key stakeholders across Safety, Operations, and leadership.
- Qualify and convert inbound leads: Follow up quickly on demo requests, content engagement, and marketing-sourced leads to determine fit and create qualified sales opportunities.
- Research accounts and personas: Understand each target’s operations, safety environment, current processes, and organizational structure to make outreach relevant and informed.
- Book qualified meetings: Create opportunities for the AE team and provide clear handoff notes covering business challenges, relevant context, stakeholders, and timing.
- Maintain strong CRM hygiene: Keep contact records, activities, qualification details, and next steps accurate and current in HubSpot.
- Help refine our outbound motion: Participate in call reviews, test new messaging and sequences, and share what you’re learning from the market to continuously improve our outbound motion.

- Represent Sofvie at industry events: Attend select trade shows, conferences, and industry events and turn conversations into qualified opportunities.

This is a remote role based in Ontario, with periodic travel expected for trade shows, conferences, and other industry events.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- Comfortable picking up the phone and starting conversations with new prospects
- Driven by goals with a strong sense of ownership over activity, pipeline, and results
- Coachable, receptive to direct feedback, and motivated to continuously improve
- Curious and eager to learn about our customers, their operations, and the challenges they face
- Adaptable and ready to work in a growing sales organization where the playbook will continue to evolve
- Organized and disciplined, with strong attention to CRM hygiene and follow-through
- Previous sales experience is an asset, but not required

Bonus if you have:

- Experience with HubSpot or a similar CRM
- Experience in mining, Safety/EHS, or other industrial environments
- Previous B2B SaaS or outbound prospecting experience
- Experience helping build or improve an outbound sales process, rather than only working within an established playbook

WHY SOFVIE

- Build with us: Join as our first dedicated BDR and have real input into the tools, messaging, targeting, and processes that shape our outbound motion.
- Develop your sales career: Get hands-on coaching and mentorship with a clear development path toward an Account Executive role.
- Sell something that matters: Help bring software to market that improves how high-risk operations manage safety, risk, and operational performance.
- Make an impact: Be part of a growing team where you’ll have meaningful ownership, your ideas can turn into action quickly, and your wins are visible.
