Kettle
Coordinator II position is a short-term contract position. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of several Christmas Kettle locations in a given geographical zone area. Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign • Provide support in getting Kettles to zone locations prior to volunteer arrival at Campaign onset • Ensure all Kettle donations are delivered to secure location at shift completion • Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to City/Assistant Coordinator • Orient and remind volunteers on proper Kettle handling and duties as required • Supervise,
support and assign (as required) Kettle Volunteers throughout the Campaign • Participate in the recruitment of current volunteers • Visit locations during shift changes and intermittently • Communicate daily with ATL partner for effective transition • Ensure timesheets and mileage reports are submitted accurately and timely (weekly basis) • Remain at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved), ensuring security of donations received.
- Work in compliance with OH&S; Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures. Education, Qualifications and Certifications: • Some high school coursework, completion of high school is an assetExperience: • One year of related experience or working in customer service • Money handling experience is an asset • Related experience is an assetSkills and Capabilities • Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle required Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Enthusiastic Team Player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Able to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20 - 25 lbs) • Strong customer service skills; enjoy liaising and working with people of all ages and abilities • Willingness to be flexible and work well under pressure with daily timelines and changing priorities • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer, and organizational informationCompensation:**The target hiring range for this position is $18.50 to $23.13 with a maximum of $27.76.Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
