The Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services team (“CMAAS”) at PwC is a high performing and fast-growing practice within PwC and Globally. The team is committed to supporting clients through moments of exceptional change by providing accounting advisory services. These services include accounting advice to our clients through acquisitions and divestitures, accounting change, restructuring and capital transactions, such as IPOs, and digital transformation projects.

A career within CMAAS will provide you with the opportunity to be responsible for supporting our clients as they navigate some of their most complex financial reporting issues and transactions. You’ll tackle client’s needs with a solution-oriented approach that creatively addresses complex accounting and reporting problems for high profile transactions, and you’ll have significant interaction with senior company management, bankers, lawyers and other advisers. Leading teams and our clients through capital market transactions including IPO readiness, and other market transactions (i.e.

Leading teams working with our clients through various accounting change projects including GAAP conversions in contemplation of a transaction, implementation of accounting policy changes, and new accounting standards. Support our Deals teams with accounting implications on specific transactions (i.e. buy side, sell side, valuations, business combination, consolidation accounting, divestitures, etc.). Work with project teams and our clients to prepare or review accounting whitepapers, diagnostic reports, complex accounting calculations, quarterly/annual financial statements and management reporting to drive insights.

Take a leading role in developing an understanding of our clients’ specific issues and contributing to the development of the appropriate project plan and deliverables to meet their needs. Coach others, recognize their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development. Contribute actively to supporting our brand and culture as a high performing team of accounting advisory professionals.

Focus on the details of the project as well as quality. Leverage a broad range of analytical tools, techniques, and GenAI solutions to identify insights from emerging business trends, drive value across client projects and internal initiatives, support project delivery, and foster robust client relationships.



Assist in the development and growth of existing and new client relationships.

Proven technical expertise: Qualified Canadian CPA or equivalent reciprocal/recognized designation and experience with technical accounting, corporate finance, advisory, or audit roles, with exposure to capital markets transactions, acquisitions/ divestitures, and IPO readiness. Strong understanding of accounting standards, regulatory frameworks (IFRS, US GAAP and ASPE), and market practices governing IPOs, capital raisings, and other transactions.

Strategic Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex financial and business issues, assess risks holistically, and deliver insightful, pragmatic recommendations.

Excellent Communication Skills: Skilled at articulating complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences including senior leadership.

A Desire to Learn and Grow: a coachable, open-minded and professionally curious person dedicated to self‑improvement, developing new skills and career development and coaching junior team members to achieve these same goals. Strong Microsoft

Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and an aptitude for adopting and developing use cases for new technologies such as GenAI are an asset. The posted salary range represents the expected hiring range for PwC locations in major city centres. Given our national recruiting approach, ranges may vary for positions in other locations.
